Sunrise
Sunrise
*
The
silhouettes of a somber, sleeping couple could be seen smiling together,
snuggling in the silk sheets. The sun had already begun to rise, and Minako
gradually opened her crystal blue eyes, a smile on her face. Normally she would
never wake up this early. But something had been on her mind earlier that
night. She sighed, finding it pointless to go back to sleep, so she got up,
rubbed her eyes, and looked to her love. Still sleeping soundly. She smiled, as
she silently parted from their bed.
The
sunrise was beautiful, and Minako had finally the rare chance of seeing it. She
ran a hand through her golden locks, which lacked the usual bright red bow. She
let out a sigh, and a smile crossed her lips. It had been busy, with the spring
coming up and a few weddings around the corner. It had Mina, as the Ai no
Megami, thinking. She smiled to herself. In all the years that she had been
married, she had always been so happy. When things were up, or down, she was
always satisfied. They had their struggles, but always, they would overcome
them. And that’s what made life good, as she saw it. As long as her X-chan was
by her side, she could get through anything.
The
sun had begun to span across everything, like a lantern in the middle of the
dark. Even if it wasn’t a real sunrise, she couldn’t help but admire the
beauty. This was such a wonderful home, and in a way she couldn’t help but feel
like one day she could remain here until she died. But that would never work.
She would miss her friends, and her life was still waiting for her outside the
TARDIS. Like it would every morning. A daily routine, in a way, yet it was an
odd routine. Always something new would happen, that it would almost seem
boring. Perhaps it would be one day, but she never would know. This wasn’t her
business anyway.
Now
the sun was halfway up, and she looked again to her sleeping lover. The once
icy heart of the Time Lord had been melted away, and there was the sweet love
she had been looking for her whole life. A man of amazement, wonder, and her
love, a description that made Minako smile, tears of joy coming to her eyes. In
him, there was a definite future for her. The options of a family, and love
could only blossom from their marriage, and it made her so happy inside. The idea
that in the future, distant or not, she would have a child to raise and call
her own. Minako’s smile grew. This was what she wanted most, as she turned back
to the rising sun.
The
sun had fully risen now, and as it’s edges began to part from the horizon,
Xadium opened his brown eyes, and turned, groaning a little. Minako quickly
looked to her love, and smiled.
“Moh,
X-chan. Go back to peep.”
“You
mean sleep.”
“That
too…”
Yes,
this was the perfect life for Aino Minako, the Ai no Megami. She could ask
for nothing more.
