Synopsis: While watching a family member’s wedding, Tuxedo Rainbow recalls past marriages he has seen, even his own.

I am Tuxedo Rainbow, Knight of Time, Knight of another world. I am 26 years old, and have been married to Sailor Terra for nearly ten years. We have an adopted daughter, Mary. Tonight, my brother is getting married, but Terra, Melissa, was not invited.

He is lucky. My parents, my real parents, my parents from the place I live are separating after over 25 years. I know it won’t be tonight, because it is his day. Everything is ready. I had to get here early for photos, the usual wedding party stuff. The ceremony will begin soon…

Terra, you should see her, my brother’s bride, she looked like you did. I recall the day, nine years ago, February 14^th…

You were beautiful, Terra, magnificent. I don’t care if my parents didn’t want me to marry you, we had to get married. We were both 23. We were married in California, but we moved back to Maryland before adopting Mary. It was an interesting ceremony, and you know, because you were there, with my mom.

No, no demon attacked. It was the standard monster from a person deal. Thankfully, certain people who shall remain nameless helped us, and the ceremony went off without a hitch… well, almost no hitch.

I know my brother is having his honeymoon in Idaho. Don’t ask me why. He could have gone to Scotland, like we did on our first honeymoon, but he wouldn’t do what we did, trust me. We did get your family back in good standing, but it was a bit unusual in the way it happened, my dearest. I can’t tell anyone, not even my parents, for I am so ashamed.

He couldn’t go into space like we did on our second honeymoon, when we went to Kinkomu. We saw Kakyuu and the Lights, and mostly enjoyed ourselves.

I can’t believe what we did there. I don’t think Kakyuu has recovered yet. Anyway, the ceremony is starting. My dad is the rabbi.

You recall Xadium’s and Minako’s wedding as much as I do. That was an unusual wedding. Delayed, at first, but it all went well. Those two, together… that is truly a miracle, Terra.

My dad’s talking, praying. Soon my brother and his love will be like us, love, joined forever in marriage.

Haak and Euri… Matsumi and her Knight of Wind… so many people we have seen marry. So many, and this is just another.

They are exchanging vows now, Terra. They wrote their own. So many places we have been to for weddings, Europa, Quinox… I am amazed.

Pardon me while I cry. She is so gorgeous, just like you, just like Minako, just like Euri, just like Minako, just like Matsumi… all beautiful as brides.

They exchange rings, just like we did. No stones. I recall that much. I promise to get a ring with a real diamond one day.

He’s about to kiss her. Oh, how I could come to you after this and kiss you! But, I must stay, even though I cannot partake of most of the food due to my condition (you recall when I told you that?). But I have survived this long, dear Terra, and I will endure.

It’s over. Another couple joins us, Terra. We are not the first, nor are we the last.

I look back at all the ceremonies we have been to, even ours, and I still cry at them all.

I still remember the rabbi at our wedding, Silver_Fire at Euri’s, Hotaru at Minako’s, my dad at my brothers’, Kakyuu at our renewal… and I still cry, Terra. You know how emotional I get.

I will come back to your arms soon, my dear. I will love you like I do, and I will continue to keep our marriage strong, for Mary’s sake. I promised.

Even though I do not recall what was said, all the words from all the ceremonies, the only words that matter to me, the only words that keep me going, and keep me married to you, and I promise never to part from you, are “I do”.

And Minko did, and Euri did, and Matsumi did, and my brother did… I commend them all, and I hope that my brother will be married for a long time to come.

I promise you, Terra, we will never part like my parents. We will stay strong, through the good times and the bad, through richer and poorer. I promise.

For as soon as I said those words, those two words, I sealed my promise. And with that kiss, that kiss I gave you when we were man and wife, I closed the book on my days as a bachelor, and started my days as a husband.

And with those words in my heart, I promise to be faithful to you, Terra. I promise.

And I still would marry you, even today.

I still do.
