: Guess who’s back, back againSociety, at lest, the society that Michiru was accustomed to, had rejected her ever since her failed painting of what was supposed to be Mount Fuji, but was a hamburger. Society almost welcomed her back into the fold when Haruka died, but when Haruka came back, the society that Michiru knew well told her to get lost.
Some
people say that the third time is a charm… and I guess Michiru is one of them.“Finally
, my moment in the spotlight, my chance to get back into society,” Michiru remarked. She had planned her debutante ball for several weeks now, only allowing ginga TV and those senshi who she could trust, along with the society people she knew. Now, she was ready. The music would be classical, with a few of her own solos thrown in. Caviar, cheese and wine tasting would be the norm, and ballroom dancing would be enjoyed by all. Minako, Hotaru, Setsuna, and Terra were invited to partake in the festivities. Mary was brought by Terra, so that she could see what true society people are like, as well as a debutante ball.It
was supposed to be a festive occasion from the start. Only the upper crust of the upper crust could pass security. Only those with credentials on top of credentials could even get into the ball. But you know what they say: What can do wrong will go wrong. And this is that story…As
Terra and Mary arrived, in their best gowns, Michiru was talking about art with a highly renowned critic.“You
made it,” Michiru whispered, not missing a beat.Brahms
, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert…classical music was being played by a live orchestra. Others were dancing, while Iron Mouse was filming it all. So far, ratings seemed a bit low, but that was about to change…For
in another location, a plan was brewing, one that would be the final strike for Michiru…-------------------------------------------

- This looks like a job for meHaruka’s party was winding down at Motoki’s Bar. It was a drinking, wrestling, carousing fest that would make Stone Cold proud. Helios was talking about Michiru’s party
“All those elite, and we have none to meet. I bet those rich girls are sweet,” he stated.
“I
wasn‘t into that kind of crowd,” Haruka mentioned.“Man
, I want to rile them up old school,” Helios replied.“I
think I can help,” a man replied. He was wearing Galaxia-style bracers and wolf ears.“And
you are?” Haruka asked the man.“My
card,” the man replied, introducing himself, “Latinum Lobo, host of ginga TV’s Hard Truth.”“The reality TV show,” Haruka replied, “and I hear it gets good ratings.”
“Good? We’re near the top in the afternoon marker. Better than Satellite Senshi Survivor, better than Cooking with Makoto.” Lobo responded, “And we need a ratings stunt to gain ratings. I have some records, 50 Cent, Eminem, you name it. Just get in there, play one of them, and I get my scoop. I even do my own footage.”
“Count me in, alright, this [BLEEP] sounds tight!” Helios responded.
“Good
,” Lobo replied, “give me 15 minutes.”“Done
,” Helios replied.“This
will teach her,” Haruka muttered.---------
At
the party. Terra was dancing the waltz, while Mary was looking bored.“No
one your age?” Hotaru asked her.“No
, they’re just a bit too stuck up. Where’s the fun?” Tempestt responded.Michiru
was giddy. She was the toast of the town again.Iron
Mouse and Lead Crow were filming the scene, taking ratings readings.“4
share and lowering”, Lead Crow responded.“Itai…
we need to stop this quickly,” Iron Mouse squeaked. From
a nearby window, Lobo peeked in and gave a thumbs-up.“He’s
done it,” Lead Crow responded, “we need to get ready.”“For
?” Iron Mouse asked.“For
the show. Lobo’s gotten to Haruka. Hard Truth has a story. Our story.”As
the dance ended, Helios snuck in, and plugged in a tape recorder, with Eminem on it.“Fifteen
minutes are up, let’s see who likes this [BLEEP] abrupt,” Helios responded, as he pressed play at full blast.Without
Me started to blare.“What
in the heavens…?” Michiru responded, and then shouted, “Har-uka!”Tempestt
started to dance, as the crowd scoffed.Terra
then joined in.“Why
, I never…” guests muttered, as the music changed to 50 cent.“I
am so dead,” Michiru responded, as it seemed like the party had crashed.-----------------
Trois
- “We need a little controversy”As ginga TV rolled and Lobo spoke, the guests protested the music, but ti would not stop until Michiru found the boom box.
“This
is Helios’,” Michiru responded.“Darn
,” Tempestt sighed. Classical music returned, but the effect had happened. The guests were complaining about the rap music, accusing Michiru.“It
wasn’t me,” Michiru stated, “ginga TV must have done this.”“This
is Latinum Lobo for Hard Truth,” Lobo started, “ as Michiru’s party has been halted by rap music.”“It’s
a shame it had to stop,” Mary responded.“It
was for the good of the guests,” Terra countered.Over
all this, there was more bickering.“You
, Michiru Kaioh, are nothing but a fraud,” a well-to-do men accused.“This
isn’t my fault.” Michiru responded.Ginga’s
ratings were high. Real high.Lobo
continued, “and the guests here are none to happy, as the controversy continues. We here at ginga TV are not to blame, but Haruka is.”The
guests were not that shocked.“That
Haruka has always been such a low-brow, It’s a wonder you are going to marry her,” another man responded.“Well
, I am,” Michiru responded, “and you can’t stop me.”With
that, most of the guests, save the senshi left. Michiru had made her choice, and once again, had fallen out of favor. Ginga’s ratings were higher than ever.“I
made the right choice, did I not?” She asked Terra.“I
think you did. Let’s just enjoy the party,” Terra remarked.“I
hope I can,” Michiru responded.--------------------------------------------------
Quatre
- “You Better Lose it, The Music, The Moment”
Even as the rap and classical music played, even as the party continued without the other guests, Michiru was still wondering if she did the right thing. Should she give up Haruka, after she gave her the ring? Return to her proper society place and rebuild? Sure, Haruka had been hard on her before, and more ways than one, but blast it, she loved Haruka! Even as Michiru cleaned up, sighing, and giving leftovers (perish the thought) to her true friends, Michiru thought of not getting married. Call it cold feet or what you will, but she was concerned! What would the rest of her life be like with Haruka? She didn’t know (well, she did, but refused to think about it.). What about children? What about Crystal Tokyo? There was so many unknowns in her life right now, and she needed time to solve them. Unfortunately, she was running out of time.
Lobo
had left, Iron Mouse had left, and only Lead Crow was there.“Ratings
are still good, and I think you made the right choice,” she told Michiru.Terra
thought so as well. She would not lose this moment. She would cherish it. Michiru would go through with the wedding, come HFIL or high water. And knowing herself, high water she had an affinity for.-------------------------------
Denoument
- This opportunity comes once in a lifetimeAs she stood in the castle in Canada, as she stood waiting to see Haruka in her tuxedo, Michiru knew that this was an opportunity. Once in one’s life, hopefully, one gets married for the first time. She wanted this to be her best opportunity. She wanted to look at Haruka, and say, “I will. I will marry you.”
That was the whole reason she wanted a wedding with all the senshi in attendance. That was the whole reason behind the party, behind the cold feet. This was her first marriage. She wanted it to last forever.
She
wanted this to be the best day of her life. But even best days can turn bad.She
saw Haruka as she walked up the aisle. Michiru in a gown, Haruka in a tux. A photo taken, a picture worth more than a thousand words.“Whatever
happens frm here,” Michiru whispered to herself, “may it all be better than what has happened.”To
